Windows version에 대한 이해
MS Windows에 대한 간단한 이해 윈도우를 선택하려면 커널 이라는 것을 알아야 합니다. 커널은 운영 체제의 기반이며, 커널이 다르면 프로그램을 실행하는 방식이 달라집니다.
- MS Dos – 커널 버전 1.0?
- MS Windows 95, 98 – 커널 버전 4.0 기반
- 윈도우 2000, XP (속도) – 커널 버전 5.0 기반
- 윈도우 Vista (보안관리, 호환성), 7(가벼움), 8 (모바일비슷) – 커널 버전 6.0 기반 (Direct X 추가하여 CPU+GPU 이용)
Workgroup or Homegroup
- used for small Home Network
- Peer-to-Peer (P2P) system
- PC cannot control other PC.
- Remote access is not available, i.e. PC must be within the same local network.
Note. The differences between Workgroup and Homegroup are i) Homegroup is password-protected, and ii) Homegroup provides media-streaming as well as file sharing and print sharing.
Server domain
- used for company or large network
- Client-server system
- Server – e.g. Install DNS server in Windows 2003
- Client – e.g. Access to domain server through network
- Server can control clients.
- Remote access (i.e. different IP address) is available, i.e. Client can be in the other local network.
